The Humidex Solution
The unique, patented Humidex moisture control and ventilation unit will:
-
EXPEL moisture, gases, toxins, and pollutants
-
REPLENISH the polluted, damp air with healthy, dry air
-
VENTILATE the entire house, drying out the structure
Unlike a conventional dehumidifier which does not exchange the air, ventilate the basement and is costly to operate, Humidex will provide a healthier, drier and more comfortable home at a fraction of the cost.
The quiet, yet powerful Humidex system draws in moist, contaminated indoor pollutants, and expels them safely from the home. This unhealthy air is then replaced with a flow of drier, fresher air drawn downward from the upper levels. Replenishment air comes from the outdoors and enters the home naturally via windows, doors, and other openings. In essence, Humidex not only provides the home with much needed healthier outdoor air, it creates crucial ventilation within the home which inhibits the growth of molds and reduces moisture related problems.
Humidex Presents:
3 Steps to a Drier Healthier Home

STEP 1
Cool moist air is heavy and will gravitate to the lowest point, namely to the basement of the house. The basement floor is also cold and will condense when in contact with moisture seeping in or coming down. In poorly ventilated areas, the damp air stagnates and creates an environment conducive to mold growth, structural damage and discomfort. When a Humidex is installed and operating, this stale, humid, contaminated air is drawn to the bottom vents of the unit by a powerful, yet quiet ventilation fan. This is the distinct uniqueness and effectiveness of Humidex, in that it is directing the effort to the source of the problem and where it persists.
STEP 2
The moist, polluted heavier air is drawn into the powerful, quiet patented Humidex system. It is then expelled to outside of the house through a 6" duct - similar to a clothes dryer. This flushed out contaminated air is then replaced with a flow of relatively drier, warmer and fresher air drawn downward from the upper levels. The interior air is then replaced with cleaner, fresher outdoor air entering the home naturally via windows, doors, cracks, etc. The warmer replenishment air raises the surface temperature which lowers relative humidity. Humidex continues to expel this moist air until the desired preset humidity level is reached. The unit never shuts off, thus maintaining a constant airflow which prevents dangerous stagnation.
STEP 3
Unit is automatically controlled by an adjustable humidistat that regulates the flow of air. When the desired level of humidity is achieved, the fan will reduce speed. It will resume a higher speed if humidity level increases. The direct effect of the air being expelled and the flow of air downwards, creates an air exchange of approximately 10 times a day. As the moisture is drawn off the surface, the moisture absorbed in the walls and floor comes to the surface and is then expelled. In addition to reducing humidity, this reduces mold growth and mildew by not allowing the moist air to stagnate and nurture them.
Moisture and Air Quality Problems
The typical family produces a lot of moisture indoors through washing, showers, cooking, and even breathing. Moisture generally gravitates downwards into lower levels and because it has nowhere to go it will stagnate and saturate the structure.
Basements and crawl spaces are primary sources of moisture. When water permeates through the foundation ground and walls, it will condense on these colder surfaces. Cold surfaces in a house will have condensation when warmer, moist air comes into contact with them. This occurs with cold windows in the wintertime and in the moist summer when warm air comes in contact with cold ducts and pipes.
Building materials may contain excessive moisture (i.e. damp wood, fresh concrete) all of which need to be dried out. New houses are insulated and sealed so well that no fresh air enters in. When homes do not have proper ventilation, the indoor moisture will stagnate, nurturing mold spores and dust mites, saturate the structure and wreak havoc on your home and health. The damage caused by excess moisture can be extremely extensive and costly.
Medical authorities, environmental agencies and home improvement experts agree that unventilated moisture...
-
Poses serious long and short term health risks.
-
Can cause costly, irreparable property damage.
-
Absorbs and retains dangerous pollutants and gases.
-
Creates uncomfortable and undesirable living conditions.
With Humidex, homeowners can be proactive in their approach to protecting their homes and families while enjoying the maintenance free, energy saving, year round benefits for about 10 cents a day.
